  1. COGNITIVE REHABILITATION  (Service offered through Zoom)

You might be wondering, "what is Cognitive Rehabilitation?" We are glad you asked.

Cognitive Rehabilitation is re-training the brain to improve:

·      Compensatory prospective memory (i.e., “remembering to do things in the future such as taking

       medication or remembering an appointment”).

·      Attention

·      Learning

·      Executive functioning strategies to improve cognition and activities of daily living (organizing,

       getting dressed, remembering routines, etc).

 2. INDIVIDUAL THERAPY SUPPORT FOR THOSE WITH COGNITIVE CONDITIONS (Service offered through Zoom)

 How does individual therapy help?

  • Coping with sometimes unexpected and distressing symptoms

  • Understanding the projected course of their disease and the expected/unexpected changes

  • Coping with the psychological and emotional symptoms that accompany these disorders including:

o    Anxiety & Depression

o   Impulsivity

o   Behavioral symptoms

o   Hallucinations

 3. CAREGIVER SUPPORT (Service offered through Zoom)

Dr. Holiday supports CAREGIVERS.

  • As cognitive changes progress, they often affect loved ones and family members.

  • When a person is diagnosed with a neurodegenerative disorder or experiencing cognitive changes, traditionally held roles such as “the provider” may shift from one partner to another or from parents to their children.

 4. SPECIALIZED COUPLES COMMUNICATION FOR CLIENTS WHO HAVE COGNITIVE CONDITIONS (Service offered through Zoom)

Dr. Holiday helps with communication and reconnection.

  •  Couples may find that the ways they valued connecting with their partner are no longer possible.

  •  Dr. Holiday helps couples and caregivers process the emotions that come with these cognitive changes and continue to foster meaningful relationships.
